Krátký hraný film LOVE VIDEO LETTER se věnuje tématu důležitosti ženského přátelství v kontrastu s romantickými vztahy. Příběh se odehrává na prostoru dvou dnů, kdy se dvě hlavní hrdinky vydávají na cestu, aby se pomstily chlapci, který jedné z nich ublížil. Film pracuje s archetypálními strukturami cesty hrdiny a cesty panny, které propojuje a přetváří jejich stereotypní genderové zakotvení. V rámci příběhu se fokus postupně posouvá od pomsty k vlastní emancipaci a sebepoznání hlavních postav. Film dále tematizuje female rage a akcentuje vnitřní motivace v kontrastu s mainstreamovým pojetím tohoto fenoménu. Vizuálně práce čerpá z filmové estetiky stojící na práci s ruční digitální kamerou (DOGMA95) a z filmů postavených na found footage. The short feature film LOVE VIDEO LETTER explores the importance of female friendship in contrast to romantic relationships. The story unfolds over the course of two days, during which the two main characters set out on a journey to take revenge on a boy who hurt one of them. The film works with the archetypal structures of the hero’s journey and the virgin’s journey, interweaving and reimagining their stereotypical gender-based foundations. Within the narrative, the focus gradually shifts from revenge to the protagonists’ own emancipation and self-discovery. The film also explores the theme of female rage and emphasizes internal motivations in contrast to the mainstream conception of this phenomenon. Visually, the work draws on a cinematic aesthetic rooted in handheld digital camera work (DOGMA95) and found footage films.
