Diplomová práce se zabývá rekonstrukcí a dostavbou areálu Gymnázia Matyáše Lercha v Brně. Návrh reaguje na nedostatky současného prostorového a provozního uspořádání školy, které již neodpovídá požadavkům moderní vzdělávací instituce ani významu prestižního gymnázia. Cílem práce je transformace areálu do podoby současného vzdělávacího prostředí podporujícího výuku, společenský život školy i kvalitnější vztah školy k okolnímu městskému prostředí. Součástí návrhu je rekonstrukce stávající budovy gymnázia, reorganizace provozu školy, vznik nových společných prostorů, úprava sportovní části areálu a návrh nové auly s komerčně využitelnými provozy. Urbanistické řešení navazuje na koncept „Stezky poznání“ a pracuje s vytvořením nového těžiště areálu v podobě centrálního soukromého dvora určeného studentům a pedagogům školy. Návrh zároveň klade důraz na dlouhodobou udržitelnost, využití stávajících konstrukcí, energetickou efektivitu a kvalitu vnitřního prostředí. Architektonické řešení je založeno na práci s jednoduchou hmotou, světlem, transparentností a neutrálním materiálovým výrazem vytvářejícím klidné prostředí pro každodenní život školy. This diploma thesis focuses on the reconstruction and extension of the Matyáš Lerch Grammar School campus in Brno. The proposal responds to the shortcomings of the current spatial and operational organization of the school, which no longer reflects the requirements of a contemporary educational institution nor the significance of this prestigious grammar school. The aim of the thesis is to transform the campus into a contemporary educational environment supporting teaching, the social life of the school, and a stronger relationship between the school and the surrounding urban environment. The proposal includes the reconstruction of the existing school building, reorganization of the school’s operation, creation of new shared spaces, redevelopment of the sports facilities, and the design of a new auditorium building with commercially usable functions. The urban design follows the concept of the “Path of Knowledge” and works with the creation of a new focal point of the campus in the form of a central private courtyard intended for students and teachers. The proposal also emphasizes long-term sustainability, reuse of existing structures, energy efficiency, and the quality of the indoor environment. The architectural solution is based on the use of simple forms, light, transparency, and a neutral material expression creating a calm environment for the everyday life of the school.
