Propojení analytického modelu s numerickými daty umožnilo detailně zmapovat reálné teplotní a tlakové pole uvnitř motoru během cyklu, vnitřní termodynamické ztráty motoru a odvodit nové, přesnější analytické vztahy pro tepelnou bilanci regenerátoru.
This bachelor’s thesis deals with the application of the Stirling engine in space technology, specifically designing a power conversion system for a lunar nuclear reactor in response to a NASA tender. The theoretical part describes existing analytical calculation methods of the cycle. For the design itself, an advanced polytropic model is adopted and mathematically modified for a beta-type free-piston engine. The resulting mathematical apparatus was algorithmized in the MATLAB computing environment and subsequently implemented into an interactive web application. Based on this model, an engine geometry meeting the specified power requirements was designed. The proposed concept was subsequently subjected to a complex CFD simulation in Ansys Fluent software. Combining the analytical model with numerical data enabled a detailed mapping of the real temperature and pressure fields inside the engine during the cycle, the engine's internal thermodynamic losses, and the derivation of new, more accurate analytical equations for the regenerator heat balance.
