This master’s thesis deals with the development of the CFD model of the turbocharger’s turbine stage with various outlet diffusers. The goal of the thesis is to create the CFD model which is calibrated with the use of experimental data from the dynamometer obtained from the Garrett Advancing Motion lab. There are 5 variants of outlet diffusers. Outputs from the experimental measurements serve as the boundary conditions for the CFD model. Two RANS CFD models with the surface roughness assessment are created. The difference between the CFD models is the turbulence model and sand grain roughness coefficienct. First CFD model uses the k- SST and the other one the GEKO turbulence model. While comparing the predicted and measured data a perfect match is obtained in most cases, which means that the predicted operating points of the turbine stage fit in the error bar range of the experimental operating points. The results are summed and discussed in more detail in the conclusion chapter with the recommendations for further development of CFD models.
