The bachelor’s thesis deals with the modernization of the control system for an existing elevator model, which was originally developed in 2006 as a master’s thesis. The modernization is aimed at adapting the model to the requirements of a new laboratory exercise. The aim of the thesis is to design and implement a new control system utilizing a microcontroller and a BLDC motor as the drive for the elevator model. The theoretical part of the thesis covers the basic principles of synchronous machine control, methods of rotor position sensing, and elevator control algorithms. The practical part focuses on the implementation of BLDC motor control, drive speed regulation, and the elevator’s operational logic. The source code is written in the C programming language. The solution also includes the design of a communication protocol for bidirectional communication between the microcontroller and the computer. Based on this communication, a graphical user interface has been created that allows monitoring the current status of the elevator and entering ride requests from the cabin or individual floors.
