Abstract: The aim of this study was to assess whether mosquitoes (genera Culex and Aedes) can serve as competent vectors of Lyme Disease by examining their ability to acquire, maintain and transmit Borrelia spirochetes (B. afzelii, B. burgdorferi s.s., B. duttonii and B. garinii).
