cze Abstract:
[cze][eng] Kolostomie představuje významný zásah do života pacienta, který ovlivňuje nejen fyzické fungování organismu, ale také psychické prožívání, sociální vztahy a vnímání vlastního těla. Přestože kolostomie často představuje nezbytné řešení zdravotního stavu, bývá spojována s řadou obtíží, nejistot a obav. 18-64 let). Naopak významnou roli v procesu vypořádání se s novou životní situací hraje podpora rodiny, partnera a zdravotnického personálu, zejména stomické sestry. A colostomy represents a significant intervention in a patient's life, affecting not only the physical functioning of the organism but also psychological well-being, social relationships, and body image. Although a colostomy is often a necessary medical solution, it is frequently associated with a range of difficulties, uncertainties, and fears. Consequently, the issue of patient stigmatization and its impact on daily life has come to the forefront. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to determine whether patients with a colostomy experience stigmatization and to describe the factors that lead to such stigma. A qualitative research design was chosen for the empirical part of the study. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured interviews with colostomy patients of productive age (i.e., 18-64 years). The research sample was obtained using a combination of purposive sampling and the snowball technique. The interviews were recorded, transcribed, and subsequently analyzed using the open coding method via the "pen and paper" technique. The findings of the research indicate that patients with a colostomy encounter various forms of stigmatization that affect both their psychological well-being and social functioning. The most frequently identified issues included changes in body perception, reduced self-esteem, fear of reactions from others, and the limitation of social contacts. Furthermore, the analysis revealed that the degree of stigmatization is primarily influenced by a lack of information, previous experiences with social reactions, and the individual's capacity for adaptation. Conversely, support from family, partners, and healthcare professionals- particularly the stoma nurse - plays a vital role in the process of coping with the new life situation. Based on the results obtained, an educational poster was created. This poster summarizes the main findings of the research and focuses on managing challenging situations, preventing stigmatization, and supporting adaptation to life with a colostomy.
