cze Abstract:
Většina žen těhotenství plánovala a zjištění těhotenství prožívaly radostně, tuto reakci měli i lidé z blízkého okolí žen. Zpětně všechny informantky i přes obavy, pocity nejistoty a komplikace vzpomínají na období těhotenství, porodu a šestinedělí s velkou láskou a pocitem hrdosti. Většina informantek doporučuje zdravotnickému personálu, aby byl k ženám s tělesným postižením respektující, empatický a ke každé ženě by měl přistupovat individuálně. This bachelor thesis deals with pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period of physically disabled women. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part characterizes the basic concepts for understanding the issue of physical disability, the classification of physical disabilities according to their origin and location. It also describes sexuality, partnership, and parenthood of physically disabled women. Lastly, the thesis focuses on a general description of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period, and for each of these topics, the specifics for physically disabled women in each period are described. The goal of the bachelor's thesis was to find out how physically disabled women perceive the periods of pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Research questions were set to achieve this goal. The questions were: How do physically disabled women perceive pregnancy? How do physically disabled women perceive childbirth? How do physically disabled women perceive the postpartum period? Qualitative research was used for the research survey, which was conducted using semi-structured interviews. These interviews were conducted with physically disabled women who had experienced pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. Data collection for the research took place from December 2025 to February 2026. The interviews were recorded on a voice recorder, and with the women's consent, subsequently transcribed into written form. The interviews were analyzed, and the women were labeled I1 to I7 to maintain their anonymity. The research was divided into four main categories: Experience of Pregnancy, Experience of Childbirth, Experience of the Postpartum Period, and Recommendations. These categories were subsequently divided into subcategories. The research shows that women with physical disabilities experienced pregnancy very positively. Most women planned their pregnancy and described the discovery of the pregnancy as a joyful experience; this reaction was also shared by people close to them. Informants reported that during pregnancy they mostly encountered a positive attitude from healthcare personnel. Most women also stated that they did not notice significant mobility restrictions due to their growing pregnant bellies. The women only reported a slight slowing down in the performance of some activities. Informants who had childbirth in the form of a planned cesarean section evaluated it positively. However, informants who underwent an emergency cesarean section described childbirth as an event full of stress and fear. The woman who was the only one to give birth vaginally evaluated her overall childbirth experience positively. Most informants agreed on the positive attitude of healthcare personnel, especially midwives. Most informants stated that their physical disability only affected the method of childbirth. All informants agreed that the most beautiful moment of childbirth was the birth of the child itself, the awareness that everything was fine, and the first contact with the child. On the contrary, the postpartum period was evaluated by all informants as a very challenging time, during which there were complications with mobility after a cesarean section, hormonal imbalances, and mood swings. The informants stated that they managed self-care and newborn care well, but it was necessary to find their own ways and techniques to provide quality care. The women also mentioned that their partners and loved ones were a great source of support and help. Most women were not satisfied with the care provided by healthcare personnel during the postpartum period; they encountered prejudice and inappropriate remarks.
