This bachelor thesis addresses the replacement of plastic components with metal castings to increase their service life, utilizing a hybrid investment casting technology with 3D printed patterns. In the theoretical part, alongside the aforementioned technology, available 3D printing methods and the principles of optical digitization are evaluated. As part of the experiment, test patterns were produced using two distinct 3D printing technologies and materials. For technological reasons, the FDM method utilizing the PolyCast material was selected for the final production of the ceramic shell. The aluminum alloy casting process was carried out in two stages on a geometrically complex part of an auxiliary water pump for historic vehicles. The dimensional accuracy of the produced castings was subsequently evaluated through non-contact measurement using 3D scanning with the GOM Inspect software. The results of this analysis confirmed the high precision of the applied shrinkage compensation, with deviations on key functional features remaining within tenths of a millimeter. This verified the feasibility of the proposed manufacturing process.
