Ve své bakalářské práci se budu snažit analyzovat z politického, vojenského a hospodářského hlediska příčiny vzniku politiky appeasementu (usmiřování) během meziválečného období v Británii. Jako měřítko konečného zhodnocení této politiky appeasementu jsem použil hypotézu o primátu domácí politiky, která ovlivňovala kroky, kterými se stoupenci této politiky v meziválečném období řídili. Toto téma vyvolává i v současné době mnoho diskuzí. Byli stoupenci "usmiřování" zbabělými lidmi, kteří se nedokázali postavit rostoucímu nebezpečí totalitních režimů ve světě, nebo se jednalo o prozíravé politiky, kteří budoucí konflikt považovali za nevyhnutelný, a proto se snažili získat co nejvíce času pro znovuvyzbrojení a přípravu k válce? In my bachelor work I will try to analyze in light of political, military and economical point of view the grounds of appeasement policy genesis during interwar period in Britain. I used hypothesis of supremacy of domestic policy, which influenced steps following this policy supporters in the interwar period as a measure for final classification of this policy of appeasement. These items arouse a serious discussion even in present-day period. Were the supporters of "apeasement" only cowards, who were not able to defy the growing totalitarian regime danger in the world or were they politicians of vision, who considered future battle as inevitable and therefore they tried to win as much time as possible for rearmament and war preparation.
