Bakalářská práce na téma Úloha šeků v mezinárodním platebním styku je rozdělena do pěti kapitol. První kapitola se věnuje nadefinování základních pojmů a institutů, které jsou se šeky spjaty. Tématem druhé kapitoly je rozdělení světa na dvě oblasti s navzájem odlišnou právní úpravou šeků. Zmíněny jsou právní akty platné v těchto oblastech. Dále jsou zde uvedeny státy spadající do jednotlivých oblastí. Třetí kapitola zahrnuje historické hledisko. Nejdříve je popsán vývoj směnky, poté vývoj šeku. Čtvrtá kapitola se zabývá četností používání šeku. Pozornost je zaměřena na srovnávání nástrojů bezhotovostního platebního styku ve vybraných zemích zastupujících oblasti vymezené v druhé kapitole. Data pro tuto část pocházejí z Bank for International Settlements a Evropské centrální banky. Poslední kapitola je věnována šeku na území České republiky. Součástí je historické hledisko, současná pozice šeku mezi ostatními instrumenty bezhotovostního platebního styku a průzkum sazebníků bank působících v ČR. This bachelor thesis on the theme The role of the cheques in the international system of payment is divided into five chapters. The first chapter defines basic terms and institutes associated with the cheques. The second chapter devides the world into two areas each with a different cheques legislation. There is a list of the countries that are subsumed to these areas. The third chapter includes historical perspective. There is described the development of the bills of exchange and the development of the cheques. The fourth chapter deals with the frequency of use of the cheques. It compares the instruments of noncash payment system in the selected countries representing the diverse areas defined in the second chapter. The data for this chapter is provided by the Bank for International Settlements and the European Central Bank. The final chapter is devoted to the role of the cheques in the Czech Republic. It includes historical perspective, current position of the cheques amongst the other noncash payment instruments and research of scales of several banks operating in the Czech Republic.
