Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje studiu možnosti zvýšení korozní odolnosti hořčíkové slitiny ZE10 pomocí vrstev typu LDH (Layered Double Hydroxides). Hořčík a jeho slitiny nacházejí široké uplatnění v automobilovém, leteckém i medicínském průmyslu díky své nízké hmotnosti a biologické kompatibilitě. Jejich využití je však často limitováno nízkou korozní odolností, kterou lze zvýšit vhodnou povrchovou úpravou. LDH vrstvy se jeví jako slibná ochranná vrstva díky své struktuře, aniontové výměnné kapacitě a schopnosti začleňovat korozní inhibitory. V rámci této práce byly připraveny LDH vrstvy na bázi systémů MgAl a ZnAl, přičemž v případě MgAl systému byl použit jak klasický přídavek Al, tak i modifikace pomocí Mg. Syntézy proběhly třemi různými metodami – koprecipitací a hydrotermálními syntézami při 90°C a 120°C. Vzorky byly následně charakterizovány z hlediska struktury pomocí elektronové mikroskopie (SEM), prvkového složení energiově disperzní spektroskopií (EDS) a elektrochemických měření v simulovaném korozním prostředí Hankova roztoku. Výsledky ukázaly, že podmínky syntézy zásadně ovlivňují morfologii a strukturu vrstev. Zatímco vyšší teplota vedla k větší tloušťce vrstev a vyšší hustotě lamel, nejvíce kompaktní a morfologicky nejvyrovnanější vrstvy vznikaly při 90°C. Z elektrochemického hlediska všechny LDH vrstvy výrazně zlepšily korozní odolnost slitiny ZE10, přičemž nejlepších výsledků bylo dosaženo u MgAl LDH povlaků připravených hydrotermální metodou v prostředí dusičnanu hořečnatého a hlinitého. Tato vrstva dosáhla poklesu korozní proudové hustoty o více než dva řády oproti nepovlakovanému vzorku. MgAl LDH povlaky syntetizované v prostředí pouze dusičnanu hlinitého dosáhly horších korozních výsledků z důvodu nižší tloušťky povlaku. ZnAl LDH povlaky připravené hydrotermální cestou vedly ke zlepšení korozní odolnosti Mg slitiny, kdy došlo k poklesu icorr o 1 řád oproti nepovlakované slitině ZE10. Na základě získaných výsledků lze konstatovat, že LDH vrstvy představují účinnou formu pasivní ochrany hořčíkových slitin. Nejlepší poměr mezi jednoduchostí přípravy a korozní ochranou poskytla hydrotermální syntéza MgAl LDH povlaků s přídavkem dusičnanu hořečnatého.
This bachelor’s thesis focuses on studying the potential to enhance the corrosion resistance of the magnesium alloy ZE10 using Layered Double Hydroxide (LDH) coatings. Magnesium and its alloys are widely used in the automotive, aerospace, and medical industries due to their low weight and biocompatibility. However, their application is often limited by poor corrosion resistance, which can be improved through suitable surface treatments. LDH layers appear to be a promising protective coating due to their structure, anion exchange capacity, and ability to incorporate corrosion inhibitors. In this study, LDH layers based on MgAl and ZnAl systems were prepared. For the MgAl system, both the conventional addition of Al and a modified approach using Mg were employed. The syntheses were carried out using three different methods – co-precipitation and hydrothermal synthesis at 90°C and 120°C. The samples were then characterized in terms of structure using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), elemental composition via energy-dispersive spectroscopy (EDS), and electrochemical measurements in a simulated corrosive environment (Hank's solution). The results showed that synthesis conditions significantly affect the morphology and structure of the layers. While higher temperatures led to thicker layers and denser lamellae, the most compact and morphologically uniform layers were obtained at 90°C. From an electrochemical perspective, all LDH layers significantly improved the corrosion resistance of the ZE10 alloy, with the best results achieved by MgAl LDH coatings prepared hydrothermally in a solution of magnesium and aluminum nitrate. This coating achieved a reduction in corrosion current density by more than two orders of magnitude compared to the uncoated sample. MgAl LDH coatings synthesized in aluminum nitrate solution alone showed worse corrosion performance due to their lower thickness. ZnAl LDH coatings prepared by hydrothermal synthesis also improved the corrosion resistance of the Mg alloy, reducing the corrosion current density (icorr) by one order of magnitude compared to the uncoated ZE10 alloy. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that LDH layers represent an effective form of passive protection for magnesium alloys. The best balance between ease of preparation and corrosion protection was provided by the hydrothermal synthesis of MgAl LDH coatings with the addition of magnesium nitrate.
