This bachelor thesis explores themes of death, memory, and family ties and represents a shift from a previous project that used analogue photography to document a funeral. At this stage, the work focuses on a form of action art within the public space of a cemetery. The realisation of the deceased's last wish – his relocation next to his wife in the family tomb takes on a character that links intimate and personal meaning with the public realm, opening up the cemetery as a space for the presence of art. Moving the coffins is seen as a symbolic reunion and fulfillment of a family legacy that persists beyond death. This act represents a living, physical intervention in space. Its documentation offers not only a visual record, but also a deep dive into the context of ritual and the meaning of memory. As the final output of my work, the installation serves not only to document the event itself, but also to open up a broader discussion about the cultural and legal aspects of the treatment of the body of the deceased, which after burial passes under the protection of the state. Through this work, the viewer is invited to reflect on the transience of life, the dignity of the dying process and the questions of identity and continuity that accompany us after death. At the same time, the practice of action art in the cemetery brings new perspectives to the ways in which we sustain collective memory and come to terms with our own legacies.
