The purpose of this dissertation was the investigation of transformation of Ukrainian GPNs as a result of Russian annexation of Crimea and parts of Donbas since 2014. The backbone of this study is the analysis of evolution of value capture of lead firms and suppliers during the turbulent period following military aggression in 2014 and shifts in its distribution among different types of firms' ownership, tier, level of diversification, and size. Conceptually, this work is grounded in GVCs/GPNs theory and scrutinizes one of its key assumptions about functional upgrading, namely that lead firms and higher-tier suppliers capture more value than lower-tier suppliers. The thesis also investigates the overall transformation of the Ukrainian economy and general features of involvement of its firms in GPNs. In particular, the dissertation examined the patterns of decoupling/recoupling processes according to the position of companies in the production hierarchy, caused by the Russo-Ukrainian military conflict, based on the analysis of Ukrainian aerospace, defense, and electro-engineering industries. Cílem této disertační práce bylo prozkoumat transformaci ukrajinských globálních produkčních sítí (GPN) v důsledku ruské anexe Krymu a části Donbasu od roku 2014. Páteř studie tvoří analýza vývoje zachycování hodnoty (value capture) u vedoucích firem a dodavatelů v turbulentním období po vojenské agresi v roce 2014 a posunů v její distribuci mezi různými typy firem podle vlastnictví, řádu v dodavatelské hierarchii, míry diverzifikace a velikosti. Konceptuálně je práce ukotvena v teorii globálních hodnotových řetězců a globálních produkčních sítí (GVCs/GPNs) a empirický prověřuje jeden z jejích klíčových předpokladů o funkčním upgradu, konkrétně že vedoucí firmy a dodavatelé ve vyšších řádů zachycují více hodnoty než dodavatelé nižších řádů. Práce dále zkoumá celkovou transformaci ukrajinské ekonomiky a obecné rysy zapojení ukrajinských firem do GPN. Disertační práce zejména analyzovala vzorce procesů decouplingu/recouplingu podle pozice podniků v produkční hierarchii, vyvolané rusko-ukrajinským vojenským konfliktem, na základě analýzy ukrajinského leteckého, obranného a elektrotechnického průmyslů.
