Diplomová práce se zabývá fenoménem královen vdov na příkladech třech královen- vdov z českého pozdního středověku. Předmětem práce je Alžběta Pomořanská, vdova po českém králi a římském císaři Karlu IV., Žofie Bavorská, vdova po Karlovu prvním nástupci Václavu IV. a nakonec Alžběta Lucembursko-Habsburská, dcera jeho druhého nástupce Zikmunda Lucemburského a vdova po Albrechtovi II. Habsburském. Práce nejprve analyzuje, co tvořilo jejich pozici královny během manželství a potom vykládá chronologii jejich vdovského údělu, aby bylo možné obě období porovnat a aby vynikly změny mezi nimi. Klíčová slova: královny, queenship, vdovství, Lucemburkové This thesis explores the phenomenon of dowager queens, using the examples of three dowager queens from the Czech late Middle Ages. The subjects of the thesis are Elizabeth of Pomerania, widow after the Czech king and Roman emperor Charles IV., Sophie of Bavaria, widow after Charles' first successor Wenceslaus IV. and lastly Elizabeth of Luxembourg- Habsburg, daughter of his second successor Sigismund of Luxembourg and widow after Albert II. of Habsburg. The thesis first analyses, what constituted the women's queenship during their marriage and then it lays out the chronological story of their widowhood, so that both periods of time could be compared and so that the differences between them could be pinpointed.
