Tato bakalářská práce se skládá z praktické a teoretické části. Praktická část představuje překlad prologu a vybraných kapitol z autobiografické knihy Quizás vivir sea esto španělského horolezce Jorgeho Egocheagy Rodrígueze, v nichž autor popisuje své výstupy na nejvyšší hory světa, konkrétně na Everest a Cho Oyu. Teoretická část obsahuje analýzu originálního textu a komentář k překladu, se zaměřením na výrazný autorův styl, v němž se střídají technické pasáže obsahující popis techniky lezení, výstupových cest či fyziologických procesů s pasážemi introspektivními, které přibližují jeho myšlenky a prožívání. Práce se věnuje překladatelským problémům a jejich řešení pomocí překladatelských metod a posunů. Ty souvisí s odbornou lezeckou a medicínskou terminologií, horolezeckým slangem, geografickými názvy nebo například s využíváním zkratek a vysvětlivek. Mé osobní zkušenosti a hluboký zájem o horolezectví, čerpané z odborné literatury, podcastů i praktická znalost prostředí vysokohorských expedic, představují významnou pomoc při řešení technických pasáží textu. This bachelor's thesis consists of a practical and a theoretical part. The practical part presents a translation of the prologue and selected chapters from the autobiographical book Quizás vivir sea esto by the Spanish mountaineer Jorge Egocheaga Rodríguez, in which the author describes his ascents of the world's highest mountains, specifically Everest and Cho Oyu. The theoretical part includes an analysis of the source text and a translation commentary focusing on the author's distinctive style, which alternates between technical passages- describing climbing techniques, ascent routes, and physiological processes-and introspective passages that provide insight into the author's thoughts and experiences. The thesis addresses translation problems and their solutions using translation methods and shifts. These pertain to professional climbing and medical terminology, mountaineering slang, geographical names, and the use of abbreviations and explanatory notes. My personal experience and deep interest in mountaineering, informed by professional literature, podcasts, and practical knowledge of the high-altitude expedition environment, provided significant support in addressing the technical passages of the text.
