Abstract: In this bachelor thesis, I studied the dynamics of Deformed wing virus (DWV) infection in honey bees (Apis mellifera) and the potential of selected natural substances to suppress viral replication. Special focus is given to the antiviral effects of ursolic acid, quercetin, and alcohol extract of Fomes fomentarius, with the aim of identifying if these natural agents could reduce the severity of infection. The work also uses in vitro and in vivo approaches to investigate the dynamics of DWV infection in honey bee pupae and adults.
