Diplomová práce se zabývá etickými dilematy, které prožívají rodiny při rozhodování, zda umístit nesoběstačného člena rodiny do ústavní péče či mu poskytnout pomoc v domácím prostředí. První kapitola se zabývá stářím a stárnutím, ve druhé je popsána domácí péče o seniory, ve třetí jsou shrnuty sociální služby v České republice a jejich pomoc při péči o seniora, čtvrtá předkládá etické teorie, které se dají použít při řešení dilemat spojených s péčí o člena rodiny. Poslední, pátá, část obsahuje výzkum problémů, které prožívají rodiny při péči o seniory, v přílohách jsou polostrukturované rozhovory s pečujícími členy rodiny a také kazuistiky. This diploma thesis deals with ethical dilemmas experienced by families when deciding whether to entrust a non-self-reliant family member to the institutional care or to provide the care at home. The first chapter deals with old age and aging, second chapter describes home elderly care, third one summarizes social welfare services in the Czech republic and their contribution to the elderly care, the fourth chapter adresses ethical theories, which can be utilized when dealing with dilemmas related to the care after a family member. Fifth and the last part contains research of issues experienced by families taking care after elderly people. Attached are semi-structured interviews with caring family members as well as ca-suistries.
