This thesis focuses on the main reforms, crises, and achievements of the Labour government in Great Britain in 1945-51 and the evaluation given to it by selected historians in the following decades. The thesis will analyze the development of these evaluations from the 1950s to the present day. The different theoretical backgrounds of individual historians and their affiliation to schools of historical thought will be taken into account. If appropriate, the thesis will also consider the ideological coloring of their works. The conclusion will attempt to provide a chronological account of the development of historical research and the changes in thinking about the significance, achievements, and shortcomings of the post-war Labour government. Diplomová práce se soustředí na postihnutí hlavních reforem, krizí a úspěchů labouristické vlády ve Velké Británii v letech 1945-51 a na hodnocení, která jí v následujících dekádách připsali vybraní historikové. Práce tak popíše vývoj těchto hodnocení od 50. let po současnost. Práce přihlédne k rozdílným teoretickým východiskům jednotlivých historiků a k jejich příslušnosti k historickým školám. Dle potřeby přihlédne i k ideologickému zabarvení jejich prací. Ve svém závěru se práce pokusí o podání chronologického vývoje historického bádání a proměn myšlení o významu, úspěších a nedostatcích poválečné vlády Labouristů.
