Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá historií tělesné výchovy a sportu ve městě Pelhřimově od jejích počátků, tj. od vzniku tělovýchovné jednoty Sokol v roce 1871 až po současnost. Práce je rozdělena do několika částí. První nastiňuje obecnou historii města Pelhřimov. Další jsou rozdělené podle časového období. Druhá část zachycuje historii vývoje sportovních odvětví do konce první světové války. Ve třetí části je zachycena doba od roku 1918 do 1945. Následující období popisuje poválečnou dobu až do roku 1989. Další část se zabývá novodobým sportem od roku 1989 do doby současné. V poslední části jsou popsány významné sportovní osobnosti. The thesis deals with the history of physical education and sports in Pelhřimov from its beginnings, i.e. from the establishment of the Sokol physical education unit in 1871 to the present. The thesis is divided into several parts. The first part outlines the general history of Pelhřimov. The next parts are divided by period. The second part covers the history of the development of sports industries until the end of the First World War. The third part describes the period between 1918 to 1945. The following part focuses on the post-war period until 1989. The next part deals with modern sports from 1989 to the present time. In the last part, important sports figures are described.
