Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou historie Svazu kanoistů na území České republiky a příslušnými okruhy, které s tímto tématem úzce souvisí. Kanoistika úzce souvisí s pohybem ve vodním prostředí, jejíž počátek sahá přibližně až do období před 8000 lety. Kanoistika podobná té, jakou známe v dnešní době, se objevila během 18. až 19. století ve světě. V České republice až v druhé polovině 19. století díky dovezení prvních kánoí anglickými obchodníky na naše území. Díky velkému zájmu postupně vznikaly organizace soustřeďující se výhradně na vodní turistiku. Na světové úrovni v čele stála Mezinárodní reprezentace kanoistiky (IRK), v České republice Svaz kanoistů Republiky československé (SK RČS). První organizované závody v kanoistice na našem území sahají do roku 1913. Postupně se staly tradicí, která pokračuje doposud. Momentálně jsou organizovány soutěže v kanoistickém slalomu a rychlostní kanoistice na regionální i národní úrovni. Mezinárodních soutěží se Česká republika účastní prostřednictvím reprezentačního kanoistického týmu. The diploma thesis deals with the history of the Canoe Union in the Czech Republic and the relevant areas that are closely related to this topic. Canoeing is closely related to movement in the water environment, the beginning of which dates back to approximately 8000 years ago. Canoeing similar to what we know today emerged during the 18th to 19th centuries in the world. In the Czech Republic, it was not until the second half of the 19th century that the first canoes were brought to our territory by English traders. Due to the great interest, organizations focusing exclusively on water tourism were gradually established. At the world level, the International Canoe Federation (IRK) was at the forefront, in the Czech Republic the Canoe Association of the Czechoslovak Republic (SK RČS). The first organized canoe races in our territory date back to 1913. Gradually they became a tradition that continues to this day. Currently, competitions in canoe slalom and speed canoeing are organized at the regional and national level. The Czech Republic participates in international competitions through the national canoe team.
