Práce je komparativní případovou studií zkoumající americko-francouzské vztahy v letech 2017–2025, tedy během administrativ Donalda Trumpa a Joea Bidena, které reprezentují rozdílné přístupy k zahraniční politice. Porozumění americko-francouzským vztahům skrze analýzu jejich národních zájmů a především způsobů, jakými je oba státy prosazují, poskytuje hlubší pochopení stability a limitací jejich specifického partnerství. Práce se zaměřuje na oblast bezpečnostních a obranných zájmů ve dvou regionech, kde státy působí, a to v Indo-Pacifiku a na Blízkém východě. The thesis is a comparative case study examining US–French relations from 2017 to 2025, covering the administrations of Donald Trump and Joe Biden, which represent markedly different approaches to foreign policy. Understanding US–French relations through the analysis of their national interests—and, crucially, the ways in which both states pursue them—offers deeper insight into the stability and limitations of this distinctive partnership. The thesis focuses on security and defense interests in two regions where both states are actively engaged: the Indo-Pacific and the Middle East.
