Příspěvek shrnuje zkušenosti ze specializované odborné stáže zaměřené na restaurování fotografií, absolvované v roce 2022 v Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) v Andoveru, Massachusetts. Text představuje institucionální zázemí NEDCC, jeho pracovní strukturu a spektrum poskytovaných konzervátorských a restaurátorských služeb v oblasti knih, papíru, fotografií a audiovizuálních médií, včetně digitalizačních procesů.\nHlavní pozornost je věnována odbornému programu stáže Advanced Photograph Conservation Internship Program, zejména praktickému zdokonalování restaurátorských postupů při práci se studijním souborem fotografií a prohlubování znalostí historických fotografických technik. Součástí příspěvku je rovněž reflexe rozdílů mezi americkým a českým restaurátorským prostředím, doplněná o příklady dobré praxe a metodické podněty využitelné v podmínkách paměťových institucí v České republice. The paper presents experience gained during a specialised professional internship in photograph conservation completed in 2022 at the Northeast Document Conservation Center (NEDCC) in Andover, Massachusetts. It outlines the institutional framework of NEDCC, its organisational structure, and the range of conservation and restoration services provided in the fields of books, paper, photographs, and audiovisual media, including digitisation workflows.\nThe main focus is placed on the Advanced Photograph Conservation Internship Program, particularly on the development of practical conservation skills through work with a study collection of photographs and on the enhancement of knowledge of historical photographic techniques. The contribution also reflects on differences between the American and Czech conservation environments and highlights selected practices and methodological approaches applicable within Czech memory institutions.
