Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na současné debaty o autorství v teorii překladu. V práci jsou popsány problematiky autorství a kreativity v procesu překladu, vztahu překladatele k originálnímu dílu jazyku a klíčové faktory a kritéria překladu, která jsou po překladatelích vyžadována. Teoretická část ukazuje tři názorová vymezení světových translatologů a jejich snahu o uznání, jež si podle nich překladatelé zaslouží. Nabízí pohled na klíčové aspekty, které se týkají této problematiky, včetně otázek identity, kreativity a etiky v překladatelské praxi. V bakalářské práci jsou představeny různé teoretické přístupy, které se snaží rozlišit, do jaké míry může překladatel ovlivňovat a tvořit konečný překlad, a zda je jeho práce zcela odrazem originálního díla či zda do ní vnáší své vlastní umělecké prvky. Zároveň poukazuje na snahu o lepší postavení překladatelů v literárním světě skrze vznikající překladatelské instituty na anglických a amerických univerzitách a snahu právního vymezení autorského a překladatelského práva. Praktická část je věnována Milanu Kunderovi jako překladateli a jeho problematickému pohledu na celou překladatelskou práci, negativní zkušenosti s překladem a okrajově se dotýká toho, jaký vůbec mají překladatelé vliv na výslednou podobu díla z pohledu překladatel vs. nakladatel. The bachelor thesis focuses on contemporary debates on authorship in translation theory. The thesis discusses the issues of authorship and creativity in the translation process, the relationship of the translator to the original work of language, and the key factors and criteria of translation required of translators. The theoretical part shows the three views of the world's translation scholars and their quest for the recognition they believe translators deserve. It offers insights into key aspects that are relevant to this issue, including questions of identity, creativity and ethics in translation practice. The thesis introduces various theoretical approaches that seek to distinguish the extent to which the translator can influence and shape the final translation, and whether the translator's work is entirely a reflection of the original work or whether he or she brings his or her own artistic elements to it. It also points to the efforts to improve the status of translators in the literary world through the emerging translation institutes in English and American universities and the efforts to legally define copyright and translation law. The practical part is devoted to Milan Kundera as a translator and his problematic view of the whole translation work, his negative experience with translation, and touches peripherally on how translators influence the final form of a work from the perspective of translator vs. publisher.
