Studie se zabývá procesem rozšiřování Evropské unie a rolí médií při utváření veřejného mínění o rozšiřování Evropské unie, se zaměřením na státy západního Balkánu. Práce popisuje teoretická východiska, historii, geopolitikou situaci, proces rozšiřování a vliv médií na rozšiřování Evropské unie. Média mohou ovlivnit vnímání integrace tím, že zdůrazňují ekonomické či další výhody nebo naopak výzvy spojené s rozšířením EU. Výzkum analyzuje texty z médií BalkanInsight a RFE, srovnává jejich narativ. Metodika je založena na obsahové kvantitativní analýze textu, která hodnotí tón zpravodajství. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda jsou informace prezentovány spíše negativně, neutrálně, nebo pozitivně. Dalším cílem je porovnat mediální narativy s nezúčastněným pozorováním a pohledy obyvatel Prištiny. Výsledky studie poskytují porozumění roli médií v utváření veřejného mínění o rozšiřování EU a nabízejí doporučení pro vyváženější mediální pokrytí tohoto procesu. The thesis describes the theoretical foundations, history, geopolitical situation, enlargement process, and the influence of the media on the expansion of the European Union. Media can influence perceptions of integration by emphasizing either the economic or other benefits, or the challenges associated with EU enlargement. The research analyzes texts from BalkanInsight and RFE, comparing their narratives. The methodology is based on quantitative content analysis, evaluating the tone of the news coverage. The primary aim is to determine whether the information is presented in a predominantly negative, neutral, or positive manner. Another goal is to compare media narratives with impartial observations and the perspectives of the inhabitants of Pristina. The study's findings provide insights into the role of media in shaping public opinion on EU enlargement and offer recommendations for more balanced media coverage of this process.
