Abstract: Tato práce se skládá z analýzy, překladu a komentáře překladu 10. a části 11. kapitoly knihy The Family That Couldn't Sleep: A Medical Mystery amerického autora D. T. Maxe. Cílem analýzy je popis výchozího textu z překladového hlediska, zatímco komentář se soustředí na popis problémů a posunů vzniklých během překladu. Klíčová slova: prion, bílkovina, komunikace, překladatelská analýza, překladatelské postupy, překladatelské posuny Abstract This thesis consists of an analysis, translation, and translation commentary of chapter 10 and part of chapter 11 of the book The Family That Couldn't Sleep: A Medical Mystery by the American author D. T. Max. The goal of the analysis is to describe the source text from a translation-oriented perspective, while the commentary focuses on the analysis of issues encountered and shifts made during the process of translation itself.
