Spiritualita ako protektivný faktor u Alzheimerovej choroby

This thesis focuses on a systematic analysis of existing knowledge concerning the relationship between spirituality and Alzheimer's disease (AD). The introductory section offers a theoretical overview of the topic, including basic definitions and conceptualizations of spirituality. This is followed by a systematic synthesis of the available evidence through a scoping review conducted in accordance with PRISMA-ScR standards. A total of 29 studies were included in the final analysis (18 quantitative, 10 qualitative, and one mixed-method study), which were examined within three categories: methodological analysis and study categorization, an overview of investigated associations, and the identification of research gaps in this field. The findings reveal significant heterogeneity in the definition and measurement of spirituality, a predominance of observational designs, and a frequent focus on the relationship with cognitive functioning as well as positive and negative neuropsychological aspects. Most of the included studies suggest that spirituality may represent a protective factor in relation to various aspects of the disease.
