cze Abstract:
[cze][eng] Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na analýzu a komparaci dvou klíčových postav habsburské diplomacie 18. století. Říšského vicekancléře Rudolfa Josefa Colloreda z Waldsee a státního kancléře Václava Antonína Kounice z Rietbergu. This bachelor's thesis focuses on the analysis and comparison of two key figures in 18th-century Habsburg diplomacy - Imperial Vice-Chancellor Rudolf Joseph Colloredo of Waldsee and State Chancellor Wenzel Anton von Kaunitz of Rietberg. The aim is to evaluate their influence on shaping the monarchy's foreign policy during the reign of Maria Theresa, with special attention to their differing strategic visions. While Colloredo advocated for continued alliance with Great Britain, Kaunitz became the principal architect of the so-called Diplomatic Revolution, leading to an alliance with France. The thesis also examines the family background, education, property status, and career paths of both men. Through biographical analysis and comparative methodology, the study demonstrates how contrasting political and personal strategies shaped Habsburg foreign policy and, more broadly, the course of European history in the 18th century.
