Cílem této bakalářské práce je pokusit se rekonstruovat životopis Bohuslava ml. z Michalovic se zaměřením na původ michalovického rodu, jeho blízkou rodinu, majetky v severních Čechách a v Praze, včetně majetků získaných díky konfiskacím během stavovského povstání. Dále se zaměřuji na Bohuslavovu víru a duchovní život, mecenášskou činnost, kterou prokazoval učencům a vzdělávacím institucím. Konečně se věnuji založení školy v Novém Sedle nad Bílinou, a v neposlední řadě na jeho politické činnosti v předbělohorském období a během stavovského povstání (1618-1620). Ačkoliv byl Bohuslav ml. z Michalovic významnou postavou této doby, zmínky o něm v dosavadní literatuře jsou často jen strohé. Jeho podíl na počátcích povstání byl přitom podstatný a neměl by být v historickém kontextu doby opomenut. I further discuss his religious life, his patronage of scholars and educational institutions especially the founding of a School in Neu Sattel upon Bílina and his political activities before and during the Bohemian Revolt (1618-1620). Bohuslav, thoough an important character, of this era is often mentioned only in passing. His involvement in the beginnings of the revolt is certainly important and should not be omitted in the historical context of the time.
