Tato disertační práce se zabývá vztahem mezi náboženskými a spirituálními aspekty a duševním zdravím mladých dospělých v České republice. V rámci studie byl využit kvantitativní výzkumný design a data byla sbírána pomocí standardizovaných dotazníků ve spolupráci s agenturou STEM/MARK. Celkový vzorek zahrnoval 1030 mladých dospělých s průměrným věkem 24,52 let, z toho 49 % mužů a 50 % žen. Data byla analyzována pomocí vícenásobné lineární regrese a výsledky byly ověřeny pomocí 95 % intervalů spolehlivosti založených na 5000 bootstrapových vzorcích. Významnou částí analýzy bylo zkoumání vztahu mezi náboženskými a spirituálními praktikami, zejména odpuštěním, a duševním zdravím. Bylo zjištěno, že jedinci, kteří praktikují odpuštění, vykazují vyšší míru narušení duševního zdraví a vyšší úroveň depresivní symptomatiky. Studie také zjistila, že nábožensky a spirituálně orientovaní jedinci používají různé strategie zvládání stresu, jako je plánovité řešení problémů, pozitivní přehodnocení a hledání sociální podpory. Pohlaví nemělo významný vliv na míru náboženskosti, zatímco vyšší dosažené vzdělání bylo spojeno s nižší mírou náboženského přesvědčení, přičemž postgraduální studenti vykazovali vyšší míru víry. This dissertation examines the relationship between religious and spiritual aspects and the mental health of young adults in the Czech Republic. A quantitative research design was employed, and data were collected using standardized questionnaires in collaboration with the STEM/MARK agency. The total sample consisted of 1,030 young adults with an average age of 24.52 years, of which 49% were men and 50% were women. The data were analyzed using multiple linear regression, and the results were verified using 95% confidence intervals based on 5,000 bootstrap samples. A significant part of the analysis focused on examining the relationship between religious and spiritual practices, particularly forgiveness, and mental health. It was found that individuals who practice forgiveness exhibit poorer mental health and higher levels of depressive symptomatology. The study also found that religiously and spiritually oriented individuals use various stress coping strategies, such as planned problem-solving, positive reappraisal, and seeking social support. Gender did not have a significant effect on the level of religiosity, while higher educational attainment was associated with lower levels of religious belief, with postgraduate students exhibiting a higher level of faith.
