Abstract: This bachelor's thesis examines the phenomenon of voluntary social withdrawal among university students: a trend that is becoming increasingly prominent in contemporary society. The thesis aims to introduce and to analyse this phenomenon from the perspective of social pedagogy, presenting its leading causes, manifestations, and possible consequences for personal and educational development. The thesis also addresses the question of how well this phenomenon is known to future educators and whether it should reflect in their preparation for pedagogical practice. The study highlights the importance of understanding social withdrawal and its potential applications in educational strategies for future teachers. The empirical part of the thesis is based on a survey conducted among students in pedagogical faculties, focusing on their awareness of this trend.
