Hlavním tématem a cílem této bakalářské práce je zmapovat posun sociálního státu Kalifornie od doby vlády Gavina Newsoma, jelikož se jedná o dosud neprozkoumané téma. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována vývoji zdravotního systému a bytové politice. Práce je postavena jako případová studie a analyzuje zákony pomocí dvou typologií, a to Five types of OECD healthcare systems: Empirical results of a deductive classification a Developing a Typology of Housing Policies, následně soudí posun podle typologie The Three Worlds of Welfare Capitalism. Tato práce přináší nové poznatky k vývoji sociálního státu v Kalifornii, čímž přispívá k aktuální diskusi v oblasti sociální politiky amerických států a Kalifornie specificky. The main topic and goal of this bachelor's thesis is to map out the shift of the welfare state of California since the beginning of the Gavin Newsom administration because it is still an unexplored topic. Special attention is paid to the shift of the healthcare system and housing policy. The thesis is structured as a case study and analyzes laws using two typologies: Five types of OECD healthcare systems: Empirical results of a deductive classification and Typology of Housing Policies, it then judges the shift by the typology of The Three Worlds of Welfare Capitalism. This thesis brings new insights into the development of the welfare state of California, thereby contributing to the current debate in social policy of American states and California specifically.
