Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na srovnání role umění u Friedricha Wilhelma Josepha von Schellinga a Arthura Schopenhauera. Oba autoři vycházejí z Kantovy filosofie, přesto je jejich přístup k umění a funkce uměleckého díla v rámci jejich filosofických systémů odlišná. Z tohoto důvodu je první kapitola věnována Kantovi a jeho kritické filosofii, která ovlivnila jak Schellingovo, tak Schopenhauerovo dílo. Největší pozornost je kladena na estetické aspekty z Kritiky soudnosti, avšak bylo nezbytně nutné se lehce dotknout i základních otázek Kantovy epistemologie. Druhá kapitola se zabývá Schellingem, především jeho spisem Systém transcendentálního idealismu, ve kterém je umění syntézou subjektivního a objektivního principu, a proto je zrcadlením samotného absolutna. Třetí kapitola se zaměřuje na Schopenhauerův text Svět jako vůle a představa. Po představení jeho epistemologie a metafyziky následuje výklad týkající se umění, které slouží k nahlédnutí hlubší podstaty světa a zároveň představuje cestu metafyzického úniku před utrpením. Závěrečná část práce srovnává roli umění u obou filosofů a snaží se ukázat, v čem se jejich stanoviska shodují, a v čem se naopak rozcházejí. This thesis examines the role of art in the works of Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph von Schelling and Arthur Schopenhauer. Both authors are influenced by Kant's philosophy, yet their approaches to art and its function within their philosophical systems differ. For this reason, the first chapter is devoted to Kant and his critical philosophy, which influenced both Schelling's and Schopenhauer's work. The greatest attention is paid to the aesthetic aspects of the Critique of Judgment, but it was also necessary to briefly touch on the basics of Kant's epistemology. The second chapter focuses on Schelling, especially his work System of Transcendental Idealism, in which art is a synthesis of the subjective and objective principles and therefore a reflection of the absolute itself. The third chapter focuses on Schopenhauer's text The World as Will and Representation. After presenting his epistemology and metaphysics, it follows with an interpretation of art, which serves to reveal the deeper essence of the world and as a metaphysical escape from suffering. The final part of the work compares the role of art in both philosophers' systems and attempts to show where their views converge and where they diverge.
