Pražský biskup byl jedním z předních představitelů českého raně středověkého státu. Cílem této práce je sledovat jeho pohyb v 12. století s přesahem do minulosti, tedy do 10. a 11. století. Na pražského biskupa lze nahlížet z mnoha hledisek, z nichž jsme si vybrali tři. Zaprvé se jedná o právní prostředí, které biskupa obklopovalo a se kterým biskup interagoval. Role biskupa se určitým způsobem vyvíjela, což nás vede k tomu, abychom se pokusili vytvořit průměrného pražského biskupa od jeho volby, přes investituru a svěcení, až po reálnou náplň jeho úřadu, což bychom chtěli uvést zadruhé. Konečně zatřetí se pražský biskup nepohyboval pouze v prostoru českého knížectví, ale byl součástí širšího celku, kterým byla Říše, přičemž za důležitou považujeme taktéž jeho vztah k říšskému panovníkovi a kléru. K těmto úkolům nám poslouží především soudobé prameny, z nichž můžeme jmenovat Kosmovu kroniku a všechny její přímé či nepřímé pokračovatele jako ty nejpodstatnější, přičemž součástí naší pramenné základny budou i práce diplomatického charakteru. The Bishop of Prague was one of the leading representatives of the Czech early medieval state. The aim of this work is to trace its movements in the 12th century with an overlap with the past, that is to say, the 10th and 11th centuries. The Bishop of Prague can be viewed from many points of view, of which we have chosen three. First, it is the legal environment which surrounded the bishop and which the bishop interacted with. The role of bishop has evolved in a certain way, leading us to try to create a mediocre Bishop of Prague from his choice, through investiture and consecration, to the real content of his office, which we would like to state secondly. Finally, thirdly, the Bishop of Prague not only moved in the space of the Czech principality, but was part of the wider whole, which was the Reich, while we also consider his relationship with the Imperial monarch and the clergy to be important. These tasks will be served primarily by contemporary sources, from which we can name the Cosmo Chronicle and all its direct or indirect successors as essential, with diplomatic work as part of our source base.
