cze Abstract:
Sociální prostředí a sdílení látek mezi spolužáky přispívaly k normalizaci...Background: In recent years, there has been a growing trend among university students to use psychoactive substances to enhance academic performance, concentration, and stress management. This phenomenon, known as pharmacological cognitive enhancement, remains under-researched in the Czech academic context, particularly among psychology students. Objective: The aim of this thesis was to explore the lived experience of psychology students using psychoactive substances in relation to their university studies. The research focused on the motives for use, perceived effects, awareness of risks, and ethical considerations. Methods: The research was conducted using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis on a purposive sample of five psychology students from the Prague College of Psychosocial Studies. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed according to IPA principles. Main Findings: Key identified motives included enhanced concentration, overcoming procrastination, anxiety relief, and achieving a state of "flow". A significant factor was the subjective perception of performance deficits and the desire to compensate for them. Participants acknowledged potential risks but often downplayed them. Peer influence and substance sharing among classmates contributed to the...
