cze Abstract:
The study compares the overall classifications of three overlapping hyperspectral images acquired by the CRISM (Compact Reconnaissance Imaging Spectrometer for Mars) sensor aboard the MRO spacecraft. In the practical part, all necessary corrections were applied to the selected images, followed by the use of spectral parameters according to Viviano-Beck (2014). For the identification of individual minerals, the methods Spectral Angle Mapper, Spectral Information Divergence, Binary Encoding, and Minimum Distance were used. The results indicate the presence of a wide range of mineral classes, such as various types of silicates, sulfates, unidentified hydrated minerals, and minerals with ferric coatings. However, significant differences in classification were observed between the individual images, even when identical methods were applied. The results were compared across the individual images and discussed in the context of previous research. The findings illustrate both the potential and the limitations of current spectroscopic methods in the remote sensing of the mineral composition of the Martian surface.
