Práce se zabývá zkoumáním morálního vztahu člověka ke zvířatům. Cílem je pokus o analýzu otázky uznání jejich morálního statusu a případných přirozených práv. Práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. První kapitola se zabývá stručným historickým vývojem vztahu mezi člověkem a zvířaty. Druhá kapitola se zaměřuje na dva vybrané etické koncepty: nauku úcty k životu Alberta Schweitzera a etiku práv zvířat Petera Singera. Obsahem třetí kapitoly je zhodnocení argumentů zkoumaných etických teorií a úvaha nad významem přirozených práv a tím, zda je možné jejich přiznání zvířatům. The work deals with the examination of the moral relationship of man to animals. The aim is an attempt to analyze the issue of recognizing their moral status and possible natural rights. The work is divided into three chapters. The first chapter deals with a brief historical development of the relationship between man and animals. The second chapter focuses on two selected ethical concepts: Albert Schweitzer's Reverence for Life and Peter Singer's ethics of animal rights. The content of the third chapter is an evaluation of the arguments of the examined ethical theories and a reflection on the meaning of natural rights and whether it is possible to grant them to animals.
