Diplomová práce "Úloha šíleného vědce v díle Mary Shelleyové, Nathaniela Hawthornea a H.G. Wellse" se zaměřuje na literární ztvárnění archetypu šíleného vědce ve třech významných dílech 19. století. Prostřednictvím komparativní analýzy práce zkoumá jejich touhu po moci a přisvojování si Božské role, morální konflikt dobra a zla v jejich jednání a následky jejich experimentů pro okolí. Práce se zaměřuje na rozpad mezilidských vztahů způsobený vědeckými experimenty a zkoumá rozdíly mezi přístupem mladého učně Frankensteina a zkušených odborníků Rappacciniho a Moreaua. Významnou část analýzy tvoří také vztah mezi životem a smrtí v kontextu vědeckých experimentů. Práce dále ukazuje, jak experimenty narušují přirozený řád života a smrti. The thesis "The Role of a Mad Scientist in the Work of Mary Shelley, Nathaniel Hawthorne and H.G. Wells" focuses on the literary representation of the archetype of the mad scientist in three important works of the 19th century. Through comparative analysis, it explores their desire for power and appropriation of the Divine role, the moral conflict of good and evil in their actions, and the consequences of their experiments for those around them. The work focuses on the collapse of interpersonal relationships caused by scientific experiments and explores the differences between the approach of a young apprentice Frankenstein and that of experienced experts Rappaccini and Moreau. The relationship between life and death in the context of scientific experiments is also an important part of the analysis. The thesis also identifies how the experiments disrupt the natural order of life and death.
