Nedostatočná únosnosť krátkych železobetónových konzol spôsobená nevhodným návrhom, či zvýšenými požiadavkami na zaťaženie, vyžaduje vybudovanie novej konštrukcie, prípadne zvýšenie únosnosti existujúcich konštrukčných prvkov. Z ekonomického, ekologického ale aj časo-vého hľadiska je výhodnejšie existujúce konzoly zosilniť a predĺžiť tak ich životnosť. V dizertačnej práci je skúmaný vplyv horizontálneho dodatočného predpätia na zvýšenie únosnosti krátkych konzol, a to z hľadiska medzných stavov únosnosti a používateľnosti. Predpínacie laná alebo tyče vedené v dodatočne vyvŕtaných kanálikoch, sú chránené voči mechanickému poškodeniu a iným negatívnym vplyvom okolitého prostredia. Výsledky z experimentálnej činnosti dokázali vysokú účinnosť zvolenej metódy, v dôsledku čoho bolo možné aplikáciou predpínacích tyčí zvýšiť únosnosť testovaných konzol až o 265 %. Jedinečnou schopnosťou dodatočného predpätia je uzatvorenie existujúcich trhlín, vďaka čomu je predĺžená životnosť konštrukcie nachádzajúcej sa v agresívnom prostredí. Efekt predpätia je okamžitý a zosilňované konzoly nie je potrebné počas predpínacích prác odľahčovať. Variabilita použitia predpätia umožňuje spriahnutie novej krátkej konzoly s existujúcim stĺpom. Výsledná únosnosť takejto sústavy je ovplyvnená mnohými faktormi, medzi najvýznam-nejšie sa radí spôsob výroby krátkej konzoly, poloha a veľkosť aplikovanej predpínacej sily a vhodná úprava pracovnej škáry schopná zabezpečiť prenos šmykového toku z konzoly do stĺpa. Vplyv jednotlivých faktorov bol skúmaný počas zaťažovacích skúšok ôsmich konzol, na základe ktorých bolo dokázané, že schopnosť konzoly odolávať vnesenému zaťaženiu je priamo úmerná veľkosti predpätia konzol, ovplyvňujúceho nielen mieru roztvárania pracovnej škáry pri zaťažo-vaní, ale aj schopnosť škáry prenášať šmykové namáhanie. Spolupôsobenie nového a pôvodného betónu je zistené vhodnou úpravou povrchu betónu v pracovnej škáre. Najjednoduchšou metódou je pemrlovanie, ale najvyššiu účinnosť vykázali šmykové ozuby vyrezané do krycej vrstvy betónu stĺpa v okolí päty krátkej konzoly. Návrh zosilnenia existujúcich konzol, rovnako ako spriahnutie nových konzol, je potrebné posúdiť podľa platných noriem. Krátke železobetónové konzoly, radiace sa medzi oblasti diskon-tinuít, sú bežne posudzované na základe náhradných priehradových modelov. Tieto modely však nie sú vhodné pre určenie únosnosti predpätých konzol, pretože nedokážu korektne zachytiť vplyv predpínacej sily na zmenu mechanizmu porušenia konzol. Jedným z cieľov dizertačnej práce bolo teda nájdenie vhodného spôsobu posúdenia konzol s vneseným predpätím. Pre tieto účely bola zvolená nelineárna konečno-prvková metóda Compatible Stress Field Method (CSFM), schopná posúdiť nielen oblasti diskontinuít železobetónových prvkov na medzné stavy únosnosti aj používateľnosti. Funkcionalita CSFM ale musela byť rozšírená o možnosť modelovania predpätia. Výsledky výpočtových modelov vytvorených metódou CSFM boli následne porovnané s dátami experimentálnej činnosti a s výstupmi pokročilých modelov v Abaquse, na základe čoho bola dokázaná vysoká spoľahlivosť CSFM korektne predikovať maximálnu únosnosť, deformačnú odozvu a rozvoj trhlín v konzolách zosilnených predpätím.
The insufficient load-bearing capacity of reinforced concrete corbels (brackets), resulting from inappropriate design or increased load requirements, can lead to the need for the construction of a new structure or an increase in the load-bearing capacity of existing structural elements. From an economic, ecological, and time-efficient point of view, it is preferable to strengthen the existing corbels and thus extend their service life. This dissertation investigates the influence of horizontal post-tensioning on the increase in the ultimate capacity of short corbels in terms of their ultimate and serviceability limit states. Prestressing tendons or bars laid in additionally drilled ducts are protected against mechanical damage and other harmful environmental influences. The experimental results demonstrated the high efficiency of the proposed method, which enabled an increase in the load-bearing capacity of the tested corbels by up to 265 %. A unique capability of post-tensioning is the closure of existing cracks, thereby extending the service life of structures situated in aggressive environments. The prestressing effect is immediate, and the strengthened brackets do not need to be unloaded during prestressing work. The variation in the use of prestressing allows a new corbel to be coupled to an existing structure. The final load-bearing capacity of such a system is influenced by many factors, the most important of which are the production method of the corbel, the position and magnitude of the applied prestressing force, and the appropriate modification of the interface to ensure the transfer of the shear flow from the corbel to the column. The influence of each of these factors was investigated during load tests on eight corbels, which showed that the ability of the corbel to resist the imposed load is directly correlated with the magnitude of the prestressing, which affects not only the rate of opening the crack at the interface under load, but also the ability of the interface to transfer the shear stresses. The interaction between the new and the original concrete is secured by appropriately modifying the concrete surface at the interface. The simplest method is pummelling, but the shear teeth cut near the base of the corbel showed the highest effectiveness. The design of the strengthening of existing corbels, as well as the coupling of new corbels, needs to be code-checked according to design standards. Reinforced concrete corbels, classified as discontinuity regions, are commonly code-checked using Strut-and-Tie models. However, these models are unsuitable for determining the capacity of prestressed corbels. Thus, one of the objectives of this dissertation has been to find a suitable way to code-check corbels strengthened by prestressing. For this purpose, the nonlinear finite-element Compatible Stress Field Method (CSFM), capable of code-checking not only the discontinuity regions of reinforced concrete elements at both the ultimate and serviceability limit states, was chosen. However, the functionality of CSFM had to be extended to include the possibility of modelling prestressing. The results of the numerical models produced by CSFM were then compared with the experimental data and outputs of advanced models in Abaqus, demonstrating the high reliability of CSFM in predicting the ultimate capacity, deformation, and crack development in reinforced concrete corbels strengthened by post-tensioning.
