The aim of this thesis is to summarize current knowledge about live television commentary of ice hockey and to identify changes that have occurred over a period of twenty-four years. The theoretical part defines information about ice hockey as a sport and its status in the Czech Republic, while also describing the importance and role of the commentator in live television broadcasts. Furthermore, the thesis introduces both linguistic and professional elements that appear in the commentator's speech. The research part builds on the theoretical framework and consists of quantitative research using content analysis and comparative research methods. The focus is on the commentary in three games from the 2000 Ice Hockey World Championship and three games from the 2024 championship. These broadcasts are compared based on pre- defined categories, followed by the identification of various changes and an explanation of the factors that caused these changes to take place during the specified time period. The results point to the dynamic development of the commentators' linguistic expression, as well as the growing importance of expert co-commentators in live television broadcasting. Cieľom diplomovej práce je zhrnúť aktuálne poznatky o komentovaní v živých televíznych prenosoch ľadového hokeja a identifikovať zmeny, ku ktorým došlo v časovom rozmedzí dvadsiatich štyroch rokov. V teoretickej časti sú vymedzené informácie o ľadovom hokeji ako športe aj jeho postavení v Českej republike, a zároveň je opísaná dôležitosť a funkcia komentátora pre priamy televízny prenos. Takisto sú predstavené jazykové aj odborné prvky, ktoré prenikajú do komentátorského prejavu. Výskumná časť práce nadväzuje na časť teoretickú a pozostáva z kvantitatívneho výskumu s využitím metódy obsahovej analýzy a komparatívnej výskumnej metódy. Pozornosť je venovaná komentátorskému prejavu v troch zápasoch z majstrovstiev sveta v ľadovom hokeji 2000 a v troch zápasoch z majstrovstiev sveta v ľadovom hokeji 2024. Jednotlivé prenosy sú na základe určených, sledovaných kategórií porovnávané, pričom následne dochádza k identifikácii rôznych zmien a vysvetleniu, aké faktory zapríčinili, že sa v rozmedzí stanoveného časového obdobia tieto zmeny udiali. Dosiahnuté výsledky poukazujú na dynamický vývoj jazykového prejavu komentátorov, ako aj na čoraz väčší význam expertného spolukomentátora v živom televíznom vysielaní.
