Itálie se ve druhé polovině 19. století po boku Irska, Německa, Polska a dalších evropských zemí dostala do popředí masové emigrace za oceán. Především v USA, Argentině, Uruguayi a Brazílii italští emigranti osídlili nová území a vytvořili významné komunity. Tato diplomová práce se nejprve zabývá obecnou charakteristikou italské migrace, popisuje jednotlivé migrační vlny a lingvistický profil italského emigranta. Zvláštní pozornost je věnována italské imigraci do zemí Latinské Ameriky, především Brazílii, která se stala jednou z hlavních destinací. V další části je proto přiblížena imigrační politika této země, původ a geografické rozmístění imigrantů a jejich začlenění se do místní společnosti. Jazyková výbava nově příchozích, benátské a lombardské dialekty, se společně s brazilskou portugalštinou a místními jazyky navzájem ovlivňovaly, což vedlo ke vniku jedinečné jazykové variety, tzv. koiné, známé pod názvem talian. Klíčová slova italská emigrace, Brazílie, benátské dialekty, talian, jazyková adaptace, koiné Italy, Ireland, Germany and Poland were the main European emigration countries to the overseas destinations in the second half of the 19th century. Italian emigrants settled new territories and founded communities in the USA, Argentina, Uruguay and Brazil. This thesis describes the general characteristics of the Italian migration, its particular waves and the linguistic profile of the Italian emigrant. Attention is paid to Italian immigration to Latin America, especially to Brazil that was one of the main destinations. The next part deals with the brazil immigration policy, the origin of immigrants and their distribution in the uncolonized territories. Mother tongues of the Italian immigrants, especially dialects of regions Veneto and Lombard, influenced each other just as did the brazilian portugues and the local languages.
