cze Abstract:
Práce propojuje koncepty polarizace, populismu/antipopulismu, online politické komunikace a ekonomických témat v českém kontextu. This thesis is an analysis of the polarization strategies used by Czech political actors in the online space, specifically on the platform X (formerly Twitter). The aim of the thesis was to identify these strategies in the political communication of populist and non-populist actors in relation to economic issues. The research was conducted using content analysis of posts published by political parties and movements on this platform in 2024. The results showed that populist actors more frequently employ elements of so-called pernicious polarization, such as the "us" versus "them" dichotomy or the use of dehumanizing rhetoric. In contrast, non-populist parties occasionally adopt similar strategies, particularly in response to populist communication, but their approach does not involve taking on the role of the main polarizer or active depolarizer. This thesis connects the concepts of polarization, populism/antipopulism, online political communication, and economic issues within the Czech context.
