Videohry představují významné médium, jehož vliv na utváření genderových představ nelze opomíjet. Přestože téměř polovinu hráčské komunity v dnešní době tvoří ženy, herní obsah je stále tvořen s větším ohledem na mužské hráče a často nadále reprodukuje stereotypní a sexualizovaná vyobrazení ženských postav. Tato diplomová práce se zaměřuje na analýzu přítomnosti genderových stereotypů ve vyobrazování ženských hrdinek v populární online hře League of Legends a sleduje jejich proměnu v čase. Výzkum byl realizován prostřednictvím kvantitativní obsahové analýzy splash art ilustrací zobrazujících ženské lidské šampionky od roku 2009 do února 2025, přičemž byly analyzovány jak původní, tak aktualizované verze ilustrací. Pomocí statistické analýzy bylo testováno pět stanovených hypotéz zaměřených na přítomnost genderových stereotypů ve vztahu k času, genderu umělce, ekonomickým aspektům a popularitě postav, přičemž vztah či závislost byla potvrzena u tří z pěti hypotéz. Výsledky ukázaly, že League of Legends do určité míry reflektuje širší společenské změny v oblasti genderové reprezentace ve videohrách, avšak genderově stereotypní prvky nadále zůstávají významnou součástí vizuální prezentace ženských postav. Video games are an important medium and their influence on the formation of gender representations cannot be ignored. Although almost half of the gaming community today is female, game content is still created with male gamers in mind and often continues to reproduce stereotypical and sexualised depictions of female characters. This thesis focuses on analyzing the presence of gender stereotypes in the portrayal of female heroines in the popular online game League of Legends and traces their transformation over time. The research was conducted through a quantitative content analysis of splash art illustrations depicting female human champions from 2009 to February 2025, analyzing both original and updated versions of the illustrations. Using statistical analysis, five stated hypotheses were tested, focusing on the presence of gender stereotypes in relation to time, artist gender, economic aspects, and character popularity, and the relationship or dependency was confirmed for three of the five hypotheses. The results showed that League of Legends reflects to some extent broader societal changes in gender representation in video games, but that gender stereotypical elements remain a significant part of the visual presentation of female characters.
