Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vizuálním zobrazením Romů v kontextu českého online mediálního prostředí, které je zkoumáno formou kvalitativní sémiotické analýzy se zaměřením na fotografie doprovázející zpravodajské články s romskou tématikou. Autorka si klade za cíl zjistit, jakým způsobem jsou Romové v online médiích vizuálně zobrazeni a jaké stereotypní role v této sféře obsazují. Teoretická část se bude zaměřovat na představení sociokulturního kontextu romské menšiny, představení nezbytných mediálních pojmů jako jsou agenda setting, stereotypy či mediální framing. Dále je nastíněno zobrazení Romů v českých médiích od počátků až doposud a následně práce představuje teorii sémiotiky, která slouží jako výzkumná metoda. Analytická část práce poskytuje analýzu vybraných zpravodajských fotografií z kalendářního roku 2023 s cílem identifikovat přítomnost stereotypních narativů ve vizuálním zobrazení Romů. This bachelor's thesis deals with the visual representation of Roma in the context of the Czech online media environment, which is explored in the form of a qualitative semiotic analysis focusing on photographs accompanying news articles with Romani themes. The author aims to find out how Roma are visually depicted in online media and what stereotypical roles they occupy in this sphere. The theoretical part will focus on introducing the socio-cultural context of the Roma minority, introducing necessary media concepts such as agenda setting, stereotypes and media framing. It then outlines the portrayal of Roma in the Czech media from its beginnings to the present and then introduces the theory of semiotics, which serves as the research method. The analytical part of the thesis provides an analysis of selected news photographs from the calendar year 2023 in order to identify the presence of stereotypical narratives in the visual depiction of Roma.
