Pražská magistrála je městská dálnice procházející centrální částí Prahy. Její výstavba probíhala od konce 50. do počátku 80. let 20. století, přičemž zejména od konce 60. let byla důležitou součástí snahy režimu po roce 1968 stabilizovat politickou situaci v Praze. Cílem této diplomové práce je prozkoumat, jakým způsobem se o plánování a výstavbě magistrály psalo v oficiálním periodiku Rudé právo. Součástí analýzy byl korpus přibližně čtyř set textů a obrázků různých žánrů a délek, které byly o magistrále a souvisejících tématech publikovány v letech 1951-1983. Základem textové analýzy byl Foucaultův konceptdiskurzu a byly využity některé prvkypřístupu Siegfrieda Jägera ke kritické analýze diskurzu. Popis se nejprve zaměřuje na způsoby, jakými se magistrála konstituovala ve foucaultovském smyslu jako objekt v interdiskurzu a jak se obsah tohoto objektu mění v čase. Práce následně popisuje několik používaných základních narativů - rozsah projektů sloužící jako důkaz péče vládnoucí strany o město, srovnávání s velkými infrastrukturními projektyvzahraničí, vymezováníse vůči nekompetentnosti přechozích politickýchvedení, ochrana před nezamýšlenými důsledky rychlé automobilizace a konceptualizace velkých infrastrukturních projektů jako konečných řešení kontrastujících s pokusy o regulaci dopravy... Pražská magistrála is an urban highway traversing central part of Prague. Its construction spanned from late 1950s to early 1980s, and especially since late 1960s it was an important part of the post-1968 regime's attempt to stabilise political situation in Prague. The aim of this diploma thesis is to investigate ways in which planning and construction of magistrála was covered in official newspaper Rudé právo. A corpus of about four hundred texts and pictures of different genres and lengths published between 1951 and 1983 about magistrála and connected topics was analysed. The base for the textual analysis was Foucault's concept of discourse and certain elements of Siegfried Jäger's approach to critical discourse analysis were used. Description focuses firstly on ways in which the magistrála was constituted in Foucauldian sense as an object in interdiscourse and how this objects content changes over time. The text then identifies multiple basic narratives used - the extent of projects serving as a proof of the care of the ruling party for the city, comparison with large infrastructural projects abroad, defining itself against the incompetence of past regimes, protection against unintended consequences of rapid automobilization, and conceptualizing of large infrastructural projects as final...
