Jedním z hlavních problémů současné antropogenní změny klimatu je její rychlost, a to taková, že je zaznamenatelná a viditelná v životě běžného člověka. Díky této konstelaci se vhodnou metodou sociálně-vědního výzkumu klimatické změny stává i orální historie. Cílem práce bylo zaznamenat příběhy a postřehy lidí žijících v horách a zanalyzovat, jak klimatickou změnu v krajině svých domovů vnímají. "Jakých změn si všímají? V čem proměny zimy ovlivňují jejich životy? Čemu a jakým způsobem se musí přizpůsobovat?" Data jsem získávala primárně metodou narativních rozhovorů s lidmi staršími 70 let, kteří strávili převážnou většinu svého života v Krkonoších nebo Jizerských horách v minimální nadmořské výšce 600 m.n.m. Celkem jsem mluvila s deseti horaly a dohromady jsem získala více jak 20 hodin audionahrávek a mnoho dalších poznámek psaných rukou. Z analýzy těchto rozhovorů vyplývá, že se zimy proměňují, a to výrazným způsobem - místní mluví o zrychlení všech cyklů, o úbytku sněhu, o ztrátě stability a jistoty, na kterou byli v horách zvyklí. Jejich reakce na proměnu zim jsou ale úměrné míře jejich přímé závislosti na množství sněhu, tudíž nikterak vášnivé. (Neboť nikdo z narátorů nebyl na sněhu profesně ani existenciálně závislý.) Z rozhovorů je také zřejmé, že se s časem, s proměnami životního prostředí... One of the main challenges of current anthropogenic climate change is its speed-so rapid that it becomes observable and tangible within the lifetime of an ordinary individual. This very aspect makes oral history a particularly suitable method for conducting social science research on climate change. The aim of this thesis was to document the stories and observations of people living in mountainous regions and to analyze how they perceive climate change in the landscapes of their homes. What changes do they notice? How do changing winter conditions affect their lives? What adaptations are necessary, and how do they manage them? The data was collected primarily through narrative interviews with individuals over the age of 70, who have spent the majority of their lives in the Krkonoše, or Jizera Mountains, at elevations no lower than 600 meters above sea level. In total I conducted interviews with ten highlanders resulting in more than 20 hours of audio recordings, along with numerous handwritten notes. Analysis of these interviews reveals that winters are indeed changing-significantly. Locals speak of the acceleration of all natural cycles, the decline in snow levels, and the loss of stability and the growth of inpredictability.
