Tato práce se zabývá studiem stlačování pulzů o původní délce 25-30 fs a vlnové délce 2000 nm. Slačování ultrakrátkých pulzů je typicky založeno na rozšíření spektra pomocí automodulace fáze a následného stlačení pulzu v časové oblasti kompenzací disperze hra- nolovým nebo mřížkovým kompresorem. Existuje však také oblast takzvané anomální disperze, kdy se čerpované laserové pulzy při průchodu materiálem samostlačují. Tento režim platí pro většinu transparentních materiálů pro pulzy z blízké až střední infra- červené oblasti a je díky němu možné dosáhnout limitní délky pulzu odpovídající jedné oscilaci elektromagnetického pole. K charakterizaci stlačených pulzů je použita zejména metoda frekvenčně-rozlišeného op- tického spínání (FROG) a metoda spektrální interferometrie SPIDER. Šíření pulzu v nelineárním prostředí je také numericky simulováno pomocí programu využívající zo- becněnou nelineární 1D Schrödingerovu rovnici. V závěru práce jsou generované pulzy použity k experimentálnímu zkoumání generace vyšších harmonických frekvencí. 1 This thesis is focused on the study of pulse compression. We start with pulses with duration of 25-30 fs and wavelenght of 2000 nm. The compression of the ultrashort pulses is based on the spectral broadening due to self-phase modulation and subsequent compression of the pulse in the time domain by compensation of dispersion with a prism or a grating compressor. However, there exists a region of so-called anomalous dispersion in which laser pulses self-compress as they pass through the material. This regime applies for most transparent materials for the pulses from the near to mid-infrared region. Thanks to this phenomenon, it is possible to achieve the extreme pulse length corresponding to one oscillation of the electromagnetic field. For characterization of the compressed pulses we use the frequency-resolved optical gating method (FROG) and the spectral interferometry method SPIDER. Pulse propagation in a nonlinear media is also numerically simulated with a program using the generalized nonlinear 1D Schrödinger equation. In the end of the measurements, the generated pulses are used to experimentally study the generation of higher harmonics. 1
