V projektu se autor/autorka zabývá performativními akcemi, kterými narušuje heteronormativní vnímání společnosti. Vystupoval/a na veřejných akcích v malé obci v několika formách vlastního alter ega vycházejících z queer kultury (drag). Prostřednictvím komunikace, debaty a konfrontace s genderově nekonformními osobami se autor/autorka snaží o prezentaci queer kultury na místech, kde nebývá očekávána. Projekt navazuje na dlouhodobější tvorbu. Růžové brambory, v němž autor/autorka pracuje s tématy genderové euforie a fenoménem vesnických zábav a konfrontuje tak povětšinou mladé lidi. V tomto projektu se autor/autorka zaměřuje na veřejné akce s dlouhou tradicí v rámci venkovského folkloru, dostává se tak do konfrontací s širší škálou lidí než doposud. Jedná se o vánoční trhy, na kterých autor/autorka prodával/a (performoval/a) v genderově nekonformním, ale folklorním kostýmu, šátky s motivem růžových brambor jako queer symbol. Druhou akcí je masopustní průvod, v němž autor/autorka vystupuje v kostýmu (dragu) vodníka. Autor/autorka pracuje s kontrastem těchto dvou situací: u první jde pro obyvatele obce o atypický moment, zatímco druhá situace je sice také atypická, ale očekávaná a tradiční. Cílem projektu je vytvoření multimediální instalace složené z rekvizit ze zaznamenaných akcí a videa, které prezentují záznam performancí vzniklých během tohoto projektu. Instalace je pojata místně specificky. In this project, the author engages in performative actions that challenge heteronormative perceptions within society. They will appear at public events in a small village in various forms of their alter ego, rooted in queer culture (drag). Through communication, debate, and confrontation with gender-nonconforming individuals, the author aims to present queer culture in places where it is not typically expected. The project builds upon their ongoing body of work, Pink Potatoes, in which the author explores themes of gender euphoria and the phenomenon of village festivities, often confronting younger audiences. In this new project, the author is focusing on public events with a long-standing tradition within rural folklore, thus engaging with a broader and more diverse audience than before. The first event is a Christmas market, where the author performs in a gender-nonconforming yet folkloric costume, selling scarves featuring the motive of pink potatoes as a queer symbol. The second event is a carnival parade (Masopust), where the author appears in a drag costume as a water spirit (vodník). The author works with the contrast between these two situations: the first represents an atypical moment for the village inhabitants, while the second, although also atypical, is expected and traditional. The aim of the project is to create a multimedia installation composed of props from the documented events and a video presenting recordings of the performances created during this project. The installation is site-specific.
