Díky své schopnosti autonomně zacelovat defekty vzniklé provozním opotřebením strojírenských součástí proto vykazují velký potenciál z hlediska snížení nákladů spojených s údržbou, prodloužení životnosti součástí a omezení environmentálních dopadů.
This bachelor thesis focuses on self-healing coatings and their potential applications in mechanical engineering. Due to their ability to autonomously repair defects caused by operational wear of mechanical components, these coatings demonstrate significant potential for reducing maintenance costs, extending component lifespan, and minimizing environmental impact. The thesis presents a review study aimed at explaining the functional principles of these systems and analyzing specific examples from scientific literature. Based on the conducted analysis, various types of self-healing coatings are compared in terms of their healing efficiency, adhesion, corrosion resistance, and technological complexity. The findings indicate that although none of the described systems currently meet all the criteria for widespread industrial adoption, most exhibit promising characteristics for specific applications. The thesis also identifies the main obstacles to broader implementation of these materials and proposes directions for future research.
