Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na analýzu těkavých organických látek (VOC) v recyklovaném polyethylentereftalátu (rPET), běžně používaném pro výrobu obalových materiálů. Recyklace PET zahrnuje sběr, čištění a opětovné zpracování, což může vést k přítomnosti VOC, které představují zdravotní rizika. Cílem této studie je identifikovat VOC pomocí metody head-space mikroextrakce na pevné fázi spojené s plynovou chromatografií a hmotnostní spektrometrií (HS-SPME-GC/MS). Teoretická část práce se zabývá procesem recyklace PET, relevantní legislativou, vlastnostmi těkavých látek a jejich zdravotními riziky. Experimentální část se zaměřuje na optimalizaci podmínek extrakce a analýzu vzorků rPET. V jednotlivých vzorcích se identifikovalo od 142 do 202 látek. Výsledky ukazují přítomnost různých skupin VOC, jako např. aldehydy, alkoholy, terpeny. Konkrétně se povedlo identifikovat styren, xyleny, toluen, benzen nebo D-limonen. Tento fakt zdůrazňuje nutnost důkladného monitorování těchto látek v rPET, aby byla zajištěna jeho bezpečnost pro použití v obalových materiálech. Zároveň byly data podrobeny statistické analýze (PCA, Box-Plot test, Kruskal-Wallis test) tak aby bylo potvrzeno že jsou mezi jednotlivými skupinami statisticky významné rozdíly. This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in recycled polyethylene terephthalate (rPET), commonly used for the production of packaging materials. PET recycling involves collection, cleaning and reprocessing, which can lead to the presence of VOCs that pose health risks. The aim of this study is to identify VOCs using head-space solid-phase microextraction coupled to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC/MS). The theoretical part of the work deals with the PET recycling process, relevant legislation, properties of volatiles and their health risks. The experimental part focuses on the optimization of extraction conditions and analysis of rPET samples. Between 142 and 202 substances were identified in each sample. The results show the presence of different VOC groups such as aldehydes, alcohols, terpenes. In particular, styrene, xylenes, toluene, benzene or D-limonene could be identified. This highlights the need for close monitoring of these substances in rPET to ensure its safety for use in packaging materials. At the same time, the data were subjected to statistical analysis (PCA, Box-Plot test, Kruskal-Wallis test) to confirm that there are statistically significant differences between the groups.
